The demonizing/anti-Semitic condemnations against Israel come mainly from the General Assembly and the Human Rights Council of the United Nations. The Human Rights Council of the UN (2006) is the continuation of the vilified Commission for Human Rights. Based in Geneva (Switzerland), its creation declared a priority to include those countries that respect Human Rights.
At a later date China, Russia, Libya or Saudi Arabia were designated… states that are highly repressive and particularly non-democratic. In formal terms, a report from the Human Rights Council of the UN could be the basis for a resolution by the UN Security Council. Since its origin in 2006, and until 2014, the Council condemned Israel 50 times for alleged “violations to human rights”, half of the total resolutions including the rest of the countries together. In 2009, the Human Rights Council organized the “Goldstone Commission” to investigate “crimes of war by Israel” during Operation Cast Lead. The Council decided that the takeover by Israel of the Mavi Marmara Fleet was illegal because the (legal) blockade was illegal. In 2014, they published another report after Protective Edge, acquitting Hamas by stating that the offensive tunnels of the terrorist group and the launching of rockets by Palestinians (including one that resulted in the death of a 4-year-old child) were legitimate attacks against “military objectives”. One of the most nefarious characters named by the UN Human Rights Council was the denier of the Holocaust and anti-Semite, Richard Falk, an observer sent to Palestine to report on human rights. Among other things, Richard Falk affirmed that Hamas is not a terrorist group, that Israel was carrying out genocide, and that the Hebrew state was planning a Palestinian Holocaust.
